Are at hand any pet rat cage that are big, but still cheap?
I want to get two female rats and I am looking for a cage big plenty to fit both comfortably. Are there any quality cages that are inexpensive and big plenty to fit both of them? I want one that is cheap, say around 20 to 50$. I also want it to be an escape prof cage.
Keep an eye on Craigslist and Ebay etc. Great deals to be found as you know what you want.
The superpet exotics is sometimes on Dutch auction for less than $50. But be warned that a determined rat can chew through the pan.
A Prevue finch flight round up is big enough for two rats and only about $45. It have 1/2" bar spacing. It kinda sucks though because it does not come apart, its a permanent square, and its kinda hard to verbs all of the spaces inside the cage. It has a slide out tray and you own to make your own levels with some closure ties and something like cookie cooling racks that have small bar spacing and fit the round up.
You shouldn't use an aquarium and cage topper because they are only 9" in depth and the fixed turning and bending the rats will have to do to make their way around the round up will cause permanent damage to their neck and spines.
Answers: The best round up I've ever had was one I built myself, and that only terminated up being about $100, which is the same amount I rewarded for a much smaller, pre-made cage. So I would seriously consider looking into building your own cage for the girls. For one thing, it's a fun project for you, and for another, you can customize it only the way you want. My cage was give or take a few 6 feet tall and 4 feet yawning. Quite a lot of space for my three boys to run around in.
Barring that, I would try local pet store chains such as Petsmart, Petco, etc., whatever you own available in your area.
And of course, ebay, craiglist, and any rat forum you can stumble across.
an aquarium is the best for a rat but get the peak top an a uv lighting sore and might spray for birds it works on rodents to.
the uv blob will kill off Anny pesticides on the rat

The cheapest set-up you I would think would be if you went to walmart and get a $10 10 gallon tank and then got a container topper. I don't recommend this but with the tank topper and just 2 rats it wouldn't be horrible.
I own a martins cage and they are really nice.
