Are my rat(s) sick? PLEASE READ?

i have 2 rats. Lola is about 10 months old and Eva is something like 8 months old.
Eva's signs of sickness, sneezes frequently. happening for 1 month or so.
Lola's signs of sickness, wet sneezes, and a manner of scabbing around one eye. wet sneezing started about 3 monthes ago, and the scab thing formed a few weeks ago.

im not certain what they have or if they have anything at adjectives. idk wt would cause it...i clean there hold out frequently and they are given a healthy diet. they were next to a windowpane but i just recently moved them. i live in a VERY squally area. i keep my window closed at most times but when its thaw i crack it open.

what should i do? i dont think its severe enough to give somebody a lift them to the vet (the vet is very expensive!) anything at home i could try first before i pocket them to the vet?
.

please help asap!

thanks
well, whether lola will let you get close to her eye, it may not be hurting her. you could try to just drizzly a paper towel or cloth, something soft, and wipe down her eye, to clean away anything that may create it worse. they may have a cold or something because the wind is probably carrying loads of germs they could catch. variety sure that if you open your skylight, dust isn'tt getting in their cage, because that can make them sneeze. also, i would phone the pet store they came from, because they usually help you over the phone for free.
hope this will facilitate =]
No this used to come about to my rats but nothing was wrong with them , the vet said that whether you are using sawdust that thats what makes them sneeze because of the dust, so change thier bedding to shredded paper and hay, i hope they carry better soon, otherwise take them to the vets x
Answers:    It sounds like they both enjoy respiratory infections, likely caused by the mycoplasma bacteria or a subsidiary infection due to myco. The only way you're going to have them rear legs to normal again is to take them to a vet, I'm afraid. There are things you can do to treat the symptoms, but they will just hold on to getting worse and worse if you do not get them the antibiotics they need to capture better. And the longer you wait, the harder (and more expensive) it will be to get them healthy again.

Respiratory infections are most commonly caused by pine and cedar bedding, an unclean cage, overcrowding, drafts, and irritants surrounded by the air. Remove any of these to help them get better and avoid reinfection once they hold been treated.

I hope they get better soon, good luck!
You should read up on mycoplasma- its a adjectives illness that affects many pet rats and it is very possible that your rats own this illness.
Unfortunately its not cureable, but it is very treatable with antibiotics that you can take from your vet- you will need to take them in for an initial diagnosis to procure the prescription, but from there you should just be able to grasp the medication without any follow up visits.
Your rats could also be suffering from allergies- I know mine have have problems that werent myco- they just had poor respitory systems. Using good quality- broadsheet based kitty litter helps (dusty clay based kitty litter is horrible for them) verbs bedding, etc also helps to keep the sniffles at bay.
You should nick them to your vets for a checkup- especially as one has a scab that isnt restorative. From there you can get the antibiotics to help maintain them as healthy as possible. good luck!
o my! well for a start its a honest thing you took them away from the window! hang on to them warm for and away from it for a while. windows can stil atract coldness even when shut. so they may hav a unpromising cold or the flu. as for lolas scabbing around the eye.. is it an actual scab?? or just like a crust?? do they fight? that could of cause it. if not. i would probably keep them seprate untill you know exactly what the eye segment is from. you dont want it to spread. make sure you change in that water everyday! usually at petstores you can buy these liquid vitamins that you can squirt contained by its water. try getting some of them. and if it gets worse. i would start considering approximately taking them to the vet. hope i helped! and i REALLY hope they get better!! D': good luck!
