At what age can you explain to what color tot rats will be?
About 4 or 5 days of age you can see their markings clearly, but you might not be able to make out the color. When my rats be 6 days old, they all lookt like they have black markings, but as they grew more fur, it turns out some had dark brown fur, and not black like it have first appaeared. From their moment of birth you can pretty much tell if they are going to be night light colored or dark colored, and you can also see what color their eyes are (which can give you an idea of what color their fur will be). However figure out exactly what color they will be will wait until they are around a week or so old--and their fur starts to come in.
"Siamese" markings rob a long time to develop, and usually do not show up until the rats are 6-8 weeks old. This is about the time that they lose their infant fur, and thus the time that you can see their definitive adult coloration.
You can see general pattern on their skins when they are born (dark/light splotches), but you have to wait until their fur grows out at I think 6-8 weeks to see the exact colouring.
Depends on eye color. Black eyes you'll see patterns within 2-3 days. Black coloring with hold dark blue/gray skin. Brown blue or gray fur will be a light or medium gray skin color.
Red eyes you won't know for over a week. Red eyes are normally white, cream, or orange only in color.
Siamese/Himalayan rats don't gain points for 4-6 weeks
Tail spots don't show for about a week or so.
Tummy color won't be noticeable for about 2 weeks. Tummy fluff doesn't grow within fast for some reason.
I do not know. Gerbil's color can be determined by four days.
at nearly 1 week you should definetly know their color but silver can be hard to see
Answers: about 3-4 days you will begin to get an impression...and will see any markings that they will have, such as hooded etc
by two weeks you will see their coat completely
