Can a mouse survive the cold? I be shocked to see for a time mouse within my garage. I live within Chicago and the ?

temp. is in the 40's. I hope it dies from the cold weather. Thank you all for the responses and I will really appreciate them.
It's probably furnace in your garage than it is outside, which is why the mouse is in in that. Mice try to stay as warm as possible during the winter and often go into buildings where on earth it's not quite so cold. Get a trap because the temperature isn't low enough to shoot the mouse. And if the mouse dies and you can't find it, it will really stink.
Mice are very tolerant of temperatures. Otherwise they would not live to traverse oceans and live through rough winters. They also reproduce at astronomical rates, so if the mouse you saw was female or near are more than one, it is very possible that in 20 days or less you could own many more mice. They are most likely nesting together for warmth, and I'm certain your garage is very helpful at providing small spaces for them to do so. Waiting for the elements to rid you of the mice is going to prove rather fruitless.
yeah. mice can survive surrounded by anything . its a rodent DUH?
You people are mean what you should do is permit it be if you own it then you should be more responsible but if its rainy then let it be the only intention its in your garage its because it needs shelter and if he starts ingestion things then you get a cage next to a trap with it but NOT THE KIND THAT HURTS HIM and if he comes back speak to a wildlife expert if you still not sure
you want it to die?just let the garage door open and permit it free besides rats are animals and gifts from mother nature
why does everyone only just want death? we have mice here in Canada and it get's minus 45 here the little buggers live within snow drifts, so no it does not get cold enough in your garage to freeze the mouse!
I hope that mouse finds its way into your house and eat all your food. You're horrible to want that animal to die! Especially because of cold weather! That's so cruel! I would just let the mouse out to find a place to live that isn't going to bother you.
"I hope it dies from the cold weather"
That made me laugh, but i.e. pretty fking cruel of you too. Just buy a mouse trap, they cost like 2 dollars.
Wow! That be kinda mean! The mousey will be fine.. That doesn't mean you should put mouse traps in your garage or try to waste it 'cause that is so cruel!

Well that's my response and I hope you really appreciate it!
mice are crafty and resourceful. they an survive outside in temps that acquire below minus fourty celcius. try traping the little bastard
Answers:    The temperature is precisely why he is in your garage. He'll find somewhere to make some bedding and warm up. He might not sort it through the really cold weather that on it's way.
your sick... god didn't make animals or rodents to kill.
WTF I HOPE IT DIES!! WHAT CAN OF PERSON ARE YOU!CALL AN ANIMAL SHELTER TO SEE IF THEY CAN TAKE CARE OF THE POOR MOUSE AND FIND IT AN OWNER THAT WANTS IT TO LIVE!
