Can hamsters be put surrounded by a round up near tishoo article instead of that fluffy stuff or those wood chips?
its because i have a science project and well my moms going to buy the hamster and she has her edges she only wants to buy the hamster and food for my project so can i save money by using tishoo serious newspaper or toilet paper?
no tissues are very bleak if they swollow them because they cannot be digested. if you are on a tight budget take some rag and shred it into tiny little bits and i find that works great!
Only you need to consider what's going to happen to this hamster AFTER the science project. Are you going to keep him? whether so how will this be done? are you sure you have enough money and time to devote to him after? or are you a moment ago going to let him sit and rot?
Know what i mean?
Hope i helped a bit!
Yes it is perfectly fine for them to use kleenex or toilet paper... I pass it to mine all the time! It also keeps them busy for a while because they shred it up into really tiny bits to better insulate themselves while they sleep. Watching them do this by the passageway is super cute! Even if you decide to use that instead of the fluffy bedding you buy at a pet store you will still need to buy wood shavings. Wood shavings don't shape that much (maybe $2.50 for an average sized bag) and it lasts a really long time! (It will definitely last partly a year or more depending on how often you clean the cage. Personally I suggest that ff you only have one hamster you could go a couple weeks in need changing all the shavings. I bought mine a little litter box type item and she uses that alot. Yes you can train it to use a little box and that will help the cage not take dirty as fast. One other thing you could do is, if you observe your hamster(s) going to the washroom alot in one area especially next just change that spot of shavings more often. (Or only just put the hamster potty in that corner if you do choose to buy one) I know stores like pet traders have hamster potties for about $2.00. Although if you go to other more expensive pet stores it may cost you up to $12- $15! Well worthy luck with your science project and have fun with your strange pet! They are lots of fun! =D -Cheesey
it's spelled "tissue". and yes, i believe they can.
Yes! Do NOT use the fluffy stuff, it cannot be digested, and it may unravel and choke them. Toilet paper is a clearly fine alternative, and it's much cheaper.
In terms of bedding though, they will need wood chips (Aspen or paper base is best), but toilet paper can be used as NESTING material.
no all that stuff is really bad
cedar or pine chips own been found to be bad for hamsters, causing breathing problems.
however, though toilet treatise squares can be used for the nesting area, i've never heard of them being used for the entire bedding.
i hold heard that you can use recycled newspaper thats been shredded. a moment ago not the slick ink ads of the paper
Yea! My girlie Honey doesn't use bedding anymore, she is litter trained and permit rolling about in the toliet roll paper ripped up!
It will hold to be plain white though because colourent can damage them. I use charmin for my girl!
Yes you can use toilet weekly they like to make nests out of it, it is nice for them to have shavings but you dont HAVE to enjoy them! i suggest using toilet paper until your mom will buy shavings! hope it helps!
No, the tissue paper can cause the hamster to choke. You can buy 60 liters of fluffy bedding from petsmart for about 20 dollars. It is not expensive and last a long time. If you are getting a pet, no matter the reason, you should make certain it is taken care of. If you can't afford taking good care of it, try to see whether a friend has a hamster you can borrow. Remember, pets are for life.
I don't really know much about it but think just about how that would feel. The wet tissue paper after they use the bathroom will stick to them! It is not leaky enough for that.
Yes, or shredded newspaper; but you might want to change it more often.
What I do for my rats sometimes is use green grass that I cut from the yard. Grass have chlorophyll which helps with odor, and it's natural for the animal. It dries and turns brown, but that's fine. I don't see why this wouldn't work for a hamster too.
NO!!
Answers: Those bags of fluff are over-priced and never last severely long, and forget about anything that has too strong of a scent (or really any scent at all). What I do to save money is shred up pieces of tabloid, or magazines. It is cheaper than those bags of fluff, lasts impossible to tell apart amount of time, and it is easy to get, especially whether your parents (or grandparents) order the daily paper, or enjoy old magazines lying around. I wouldn't recommend toilet paper .. but whether that is all you can get your hand on it should work, and still be pretty inexpensive. (Bad thing about toilet paper would be that when she pees on it, it will attain all mushy and soggy would be a mess to clean up, and not very pleasant for her to live surrounded by.) I would only use it for a limited time though, definitely not on a unalterable basis.
No because whether they pee on it, it will make them sick!
