Did hamster devour tot hamster?

my hamster just born to day. Will my hamster eat my kid hamster

yup.sometimes.the mother hamster will just drink it if your going to touch it's baby...because if she have smell your scent then she'd going to eat it.remind u please don't touch the pups or else your going to surprise sometime that you don't have pups anymore...
They sometimes do after birth, but then they shouldn't unless they are lacking protien or nutrients. Feed the mother egg soaked bread and she should be fine. After the babies ahve grown up a bit you'll see her carry them somewhere then leave them, this funds she is done with them and you should remove them, other wise then she will encounter them or eat them.
I doubt it unless you touch it or disturb her too much
My adult white mice ate all of their babies (Not certain if it was the mothers or the fathers...I have like 20 mice in a very big cage). Anyway, one day the babies were all nearby, pink and newborn and stuff, and the next day they were gone. Yep, basically like that, gone. But what are you going to do? They need their mothers for warmth, safekeeping and milk so you can't take them out of their cage for safekeeping. Just don't be shocked if it happen.
The purpose of breeding however is propagation of the species, so to cannibalize all of their babies would defeat the purpose. Maybe you'll be o.k. Good luck!
Not unless she is disturbed. You have to leave the nest COMPLETELY alone. If the mother is startled, or smells your scent on her babies, she will almost certainly kill them. Just put food surrounded by the cage each day close to usual, btu don't even TOUCH the nest until the baby hamsters are bigger and moving around.
It happened with my guinea pigs twice. I have thought that was because of malnutrition. Reading above answers, I'm not so sure very soon.

Can it be because of the confined space and limited food?
Answers:    Unfortunately, some hamsters will. My hamster gave birth to 5 babies and she ate 1 of them while the rest are left alone and they died because she didn't breast feed them.
But it might not develop to yours, as long as she has enough food and water and try to preserve her comfortable by decreasing any noise that might startled her.
depends
