Do rats CAGES stink??
okay i know that i posted a question asking if rats stink, but my mom still wont get me the rat because she say that the cage stinks. Is she being stereotypical again or is it true?
If you don't clean the cage once a week, yea it'll stink. The same thing beside a litter box. Carefresh is a very good bedding to use, and so is Yesterday's News.
And, please get 2 rats. A rat that lives by itself get depressed and dies an early death. (If you don't believe that, go research rats on google. You'll find out.) If your mom won't tolerate you get 2, than don't get any at all. It's not disinterested to the rat.
Cages don't naturally stink. Now, if you neglect the ''housekeeping'' duties, next yes, the cage can smell pretty strongly.
Males have a natural 'odor' to them, but nought major.
Good bedding product, and good 'housekeeping' habits = no odor from your caged pets.
It's basically like asking if a cat's litterbox will have an odor. Odor depends 100% on how verbs it's kept.
sorry but they do smell, even with regular cleaning. This is because rats tend to pee on respectively other and the cage to mark territory and show dominance. The a smaller amount the rats you have, the less it will smell.
Yeah it will smell if you don't clean it, so if you did buy one bath the cage every week! seriously. and make sure the made-up off having one doesn't die down. some kids love getting animals but then arn't committed to them then on in life
Nope. Clean it every week and it's minty fresh! Well not minty, unless you clean it with toothpaste..
Keep it clean and it doesnt smell. Please bring back a pair of rats, not one, they are social.
Answers: Actually, rats cages never stink, unless you forget to verbs it. So yes, stinky rat cages is a stereotype. Pet rats are exeptionally clean animals, of which are virtually odourless. Many ethnic group, especially kids or parents of kids, get rats thinking they are like hamsters. Well, THEY ARE NOT!! Hamsters hold a strong, quite disgusting stench, rats do not. Hamsters think of their owners as predators, a loving pet rats thinks of their owner as a companion, as they bond to you from daytime one. Another big one is that hamsters are biters and rats are kissers :)
