Do rats close to mortal pet backwards?

I mean, from tail to head instead of head to tail. A video on youtube said they like it but i don't know.
i dont think so. whether you do it that way the skin could come off on their tail. Yes, and the skin being pushed the conflicting way it's supposed to, can hurt the rat. The person on youtube was not awfully wise.
Actually, this is pleasurable for some rats and is a form of petting that actually can be done. This is a favorite petting method of plentiful rats. This site: http://www.dapper.com.au/articles.htm#sc... gives you many ways in which to pet your rats (these methods are particular as scritching). You'll soon find which way they prefer. One of my own enjoys the method you are describing.
No, no pets like it. IT pushes hair and skin forward, which is sensitive.
I pat mine backwards. They seem to like it, but it may be what they are used to. I also pet my cats backwards and since they are used to it they resembling it, while other cats hate it. Just try it.
Answers:    It all depends on the rat. Most rats who are tame and love being handle will accept almost any kind of petting as long as they're self loved on! You can try it gently on your rat and if he or she doesn't like it afterwards don't do it anymore. Rats with different coats such as Rex or Velveteen probably don't mind since their hair grows contained by all directions instead of just one =)
No, always pet contained by the direction the hair grows, not against it.
I was petting my rat on my knee one dark and went backwards - he went into a trance like state and sit very still. His little eyes went half closed - he be in little rat paradise! He loves it.
