Does anyone Foster Rats?
I am 14 years old and when I was 9 I had a feminine fancy rat, and she was so sweet until she got 3 mammory tumors, one bigger then her person in charge, and she kept losing weight (she was 3 years old) and day by year it was harder to look at her. I am a passionate animal lover and ever since we put her to sleep, ive wanted another rat. There is a rat shelter roughly 45 minutes away from us and I have been asking my mom whether I could foster some of their rats, but she is very unsure because when I was 9 i wasnt exactly the most responsible personality about cleaning the cage. Now since I am a lot elder, I am ready to take on the responsibilty. Does anyone foster rats on YA and are there any restrictions when fostering similar to you cant take the rat oustide? Because my old rat and I would play outside so I would want to be capable of do that. Also what should I say to my mom to let her trust me with taking assistance of rats?! Oh and I would have to keep them in my room, so does anyone else hold them in your room and do they make lots of noise at hours of darkness? Because my old rat never used a wheel for some reason.
THanks
Answers: I breed rats, and I do foster them external. My rules are:
If you take them outside, you will need to harness train them first, and you should not put them surrounded by the grass, or take them to a friend's house. You should play with them in a specific nouns so they know it's playtime and they won't catch diseases. You should only take the rat out when it's between 50 - 75 degree so they don't get sick.
DO NOT get rid of rats for any reason. If you can't clutch care of them anymore, bring them back to me. DO NOT feed to snakes. These are specially bred animals, and not designed as food.
Feed them a specific diet, lab blocks. 2 a day. Treats are fine, and extra nutrition is fine as well. I nurture them some of my breakfast and dinner every day.
Here's a list of what they can have:

ALWAYS buy contained by pairs. Rats need someone to keep them company when you aren't home. I hold to have proof there is another rat at home whether I sell only one of them.
Only use carefresh or a paper-based bedding!
Now, your second cross-examine: This is all on your own. Don't beg though. Show your mom you are responsible. Research about rats (I own a document I put together for new owners, or owners who have a few questions. If you want it, I'll email it to you. Just transport me a message.)
I used to keep my rats in my room (I only have 2 at the time) and I couldn't sleep with them in there. They be too noisy. I have 9 rats right now, 5 females, and 4 males, and I would not be capable of keep them in my room. 6 of the 9 use the wheel. The other 3 of late sleep around a lot (they are males). I wouldn't keep them in your room. Put them within the bathroom since youa re only getting a couple of them. You can put them in the living room if you required to as well.
Good luck.
I'm not sure about your first examine.
As for the second question, explain to your mom WHY you want to foster rats. Give your reasons, and fashion them good. Don't whine, as that will just make her suggest of you as less mature. Talk like a matured adult and she will treat you like one.
Rats shouldn't make seriously of noise at night. They sleep in the morning and night, and they should get used to your schedule of sleeping at dark and will be less active.
Good luck! I hope you are allowed to foster rats. Not many relatives are willing to do that.
