Getting rid of a cyst on a hamster?
So, I found a cyst on my Roborovski dwarf hamster.
It doesn't seem to be bothering at all. So that's good. =)
But, is within anything I can do to treat it and maybe get rid of it?
Answers: I'm glad it's not bothering him. Consider that, yes, it might be a cyst - but it also might be a tumor, benign or otherwise. Antibiotics might get rid of it whether it's a cyst, or they might not - it depends on whether or not the particular antibiotic is effective against the bacteria that are surrounded by the cyst. And of course if you do give it an antibiotic and zilch happens, you still haven't ruled out the possibility that it's a tumor. The best thing to do is to embezzle the hamster to the vet to get it examined. In the meantime, watch and make certain s/he's eating, drinking, and acting normally. If s/he starts scratching at the lump, or his/her appetite starts to wane, or s/he starts acting slow-moving, those are signs that you need to get to the vet ASAP.
go to ur local pet store and achieve some medicine for hamsters. it should clear it up 3-4 days :D good luck
