Help!!What's wrong beside my guinea pig =( ?
Every weekend I brush my guinea pigs' fur. On one of my guinea pigs I noticed that she had like little black dots on her fur. The dots are not distinct when you look at her. You have to lift up her hair rather to see them because they are closer to the skin. The dots are not around her face. They are more so around her the bottom of her sides. It is NOT FLEAS.
consult a vet immediately if these spots own erupted suddenly and if you love your guinea pig.
how do you know its not fleas?
but thats besides the point, something is obviously wrong with him/her. i hold a hamster, and in my opinion i would take them to the vet. something could be completely wrong (although it probably isn't anything that bad) and the sooner they see a professional the better.

Answers: What you guinea pigs has is not life threatening. For one guinea pigs do not acquire fleas, your right they are not fleas. Its called " scurfy " and is very dry micro minute pieces of dead skin. The adjectives cause is the lack of Vit C. Feeding plenty of broccoli and cauliflower leaves.
Give a bath and really foam up his shampoo to relieve lift and remove it. Bath him 3 times over the next 7 days and he will be so much more comfortable and happy. It will receive a huge difference to his coat, it will be healthy and shiny.
