How can i get hold of my hamster to live long?
their life expectancy is only a few years.. how can i prolong his life.
i love him dearly and would be devastated whether he died anytime soon.
does a special diet help keep him healthy and live longer?

Green leafy vegetables, vitamins (liquid, administered with an eye dropper), an annual trip to the doc; just like us, exercise, pure sea, hugs.

Just feed them regularly, play with then, take home sure it has a healthy diet, don't move out them out in the hot sun or hot places.
Just basically care for it properly! and i bet ur hamster will similar to a long time!!

Answers: unfortunately hamlets just deteriorate.
i mull over if they hibernate then they will live longer but its dangerous, you mustnt do that to your hamlet.
i own had hammies live for 3.5yrs and ones live to 2.75yrs.
as long as you look after them the best you can then its down to the way the hamlet is made as to when it dies.
its a shame when they progress.
it's all in their genes, 2 years is lucky.
