Illegal Chipmunk Captivity?
Is it illegal to keep a baby Eastern Chipmunk below captivity in the state of New York?

I maybe wrong but if you own one i would seize rid off it! don't kill it but maybe desire advice from a wildlife sanctuary
Probably. I live in Virginia, but I think, at least where on earth I live, you need a permit to keep in their natural habitat animals.
Answers: I don't think that our police would come after you for it, so i guess it is ok, take it to the vet but give up it in the car and ask him, if he say it is legal bring the critter in, if criminal keep him in the car and articulate a friend found one. If it is legal then take him within and ask for shots and stuff for him. he may look at you weird though. Be willing to pay a vet bill. Your top precedence should be rabies shots.
