Is it Possible To even ship a hamster?

I feel stupid for even asking this question. I be planning on giving away my hamster for free with is cage and food surrounded by my local area. Well I live in AZ and I am orignaly from VA. Well my cousin saw my ad just about it on myspace and shes from Va. She told me that her friend would like him and i told her that if it was ok beside my husband we can take him with us to va when we go at hand for Christmas. Well she went and told her that i would and i then later told her after discussing near my husband that he does not want to travel with the hamster. Well now she said she can not tell her friend because shes excited to achieve him and that i can ship the hamster there and she will repay me. Is it even possible to even ship a hamster? I don't even think you can. So can someone tell me? And how much crap in poor health have to go thru if i do want to do this?
you could, but i wouldnt recommend it!

The hamster could die from too much stress, heat, cold, etc.

It might be better to lately go over there yourself or have her come over 2 ur house and that route 1 of you could check on how hes doing at all times and he can stay in his cage for the ride :D

Good Luck!
your cousin's friend can in recent times easily get one from a petstore, it will cause agency to much stress on the poor little hamster. it will be pretty expencive too.. wait are you just giving him away because of your leave?? well if you are just go and get a petsitter, if put it up for adoption at petco or petsmart or give it to someone locally!
Yes, it is possible to ship a hamster, though it isn't always the best idea. They can become stressed by travel and it may negatively affect them. The safest road to ship an animal is by air, in an airline approved carrier. Call around to different airlines and see what their policies are on shipping live animals and what their prices are. Some will require you to buy a possessor from the airline, some are fine with home made or store bought ones. Animals usually aren't allowed on flights when the heat is too cold, or flights that are more than 12 hours in total length. The airlines will be able to tell you more information. Good luck!
It is possible to transport any sympathetic of an animal on an airplane. My mom did it with a box turtle. Hamsters are relatively cheap though. If cousin wants a hamster cousin can buy one at any pet store.
Answers:    Well, that is how they get to the pet store usually. Be mean, though, because it is extremely stressful. They develop wet tail (diarrhea) from stress and it is a deadly illness for them. I would offer the hamster to someone locally and send your cousin a gift card to get her own hamster.
Kepp him and what ever you do DONT SHIP HIM it could KILL him
aah! that is so not a suitable idea! the hamster will be totally stressed! DO NOT DO THAT; IT COULD KILL HIM!
