Is this a big adequate round up for a syrian hamster?
Im getting a hamster for christmas so i was wondering if this cage http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... is big plenty for a adult Syrian hamster? I need one the right size (not too small) to put a syrian hamster in so i don't hold to buy another one if my hamster gets too big. if there's another enclose that you would suggest that's a good size and not a lot of money (in between $30-$40) consequently please tell me. thank you
i think the cage looks a little bit small. i would receive one a little bit bigger hamsters like having room to play contained by but i would not get an aquarium because i got my hamster one and he hated it so i would a short time ago get a bigger one than that just make certain they have lots of toys to play with hope i helped
That is a vastly small cage, but you are in luck. Hamsters are not very intelligent and do not require a ton of space. I would recommend going for a moment bigger than that cage, though. If you are intent on buying from a pet shop, then I would suggest buying an aquarium. Syrians prefer ground space and do not use level. Hamsters also like to dig and burrow so a tank is in good health suited for that.
i used to use SuperPet critter trail brand, they be good for my hamsters... yours seems fine though because honestly they just run contained by the wheel and sleep, over and over... just make certain you play with the hamster out of the cage and he'll be fine :D

It is more or smaller number a minimum but you wanted to be certain not having to buy another. What whether the hamster is trying to destroy its home and keeps everybody awake at darkness. It may be very successful because everything is ready to be destroyed. This is for mice and I see a mouse wheel. Certainly unfit for a goldhamster. You may be capable of buy a used aquarium in the neighborhood or even get one for free. It should be made so that the hamster can not climb out or hangs at the cover. Let the hamster completely alone and do not nurture it by hand for the first couple of weeks. It has to learn to use its instincts on how to live here. I expect that will keep its nest clean. Otherwise it may not even be interested in making one. 30 X 35 X 50 would fit adjectives sizes. When I was a kid I had a smaller one from plastic and a good time also. Let it enjoy its daily movements, preferably not free running trough the room, on tables or at your shoulder.
It could work, my dwarf hamster lives in one resembling this..syrian aren't that big...but i still recommend you get a bigger cage. the more room, the happier.
Answers: NO!! That is WAY too small. Syrian need a lot of FLOOR room. That coop is too small to even put a proper size wheel in it (if the wheel is too small, it hurts their put a bet on to run in it as it curves their spine). The cage should be at least 24 inches long. Try to look for something approaching that.
Good cages cost money. You wont be able to find a good pen for $30-40. Remember, the cage is where the hamster spends 99% of the time so it needs to be the right size. Try in your favour up more money and get a good cage. Cage is the biggest and best investment when it comes to owning caged pets (like hamsters)

no no no, way too small. Try a 10 gallon aquarium, you can buy those for cheap and they generate excellent houses for hamsters.
