My guinea pig have strange soft coming out of its privates?
I have recentley brought to 'male' guinea pigs but i have done some research on sexing and one of them is actually feminine but as i have just found this out she has get strange white liquid coming from her private parts and they are both mature male + womanly and i think she may be in heat or even pregnant! they are 10 weeks dated by the way
Females will sometimes hold slight discharge but it's not a frequent thing. If there is alot of it, or if she starts to show any other symptoms(not eatting, not moving alot, etc) seize her to the vet! She could POSSIBLY be pregnany at 10 weeks but it would be very unhealthy for her. And if adjectives else fails...call the vet
My hamster used to do that. When I bought her she be already pregnant and surprised me, but I don't think she did that while she was pregnant. I think it started after her babies be weaned. Now, I don't know for sure, you would need to look up guinea pig heat cycles, but that may connote she is in heat. Again, I don't know for sure. Rats are abundantly different, and I keep males anyways. But once her female babies got elder they had discharge too. It smelled very strong. I vowed after that to only hold on to male pets [of the rodent kind anyways, haha.] If it's not her in warmness, then it may just be occasional. Though I doubt she is already pregnant. I would HIGHLY suggest separating them though, unless you want babies.
Answers: females get a white discharge down there sometimes.so that doesnt penny-pinching she is in heat.but seperate the mae and female.depending how dated the female is her pelvic bone may have fused and if she tries to confer birth the babies wont come out and she will die of a long painfull death.so be carefull and if you think they bred budge to the vets for a x ray to see if her pelvic bone isnt fused.this happen to mine and we had to get her a c section.
Female guinea pigs get that fluid sometimes, but is usually has something to do with hormones. If you don't want babies, I would recommend spaying the womanly
