My hamster bites his pen seriously.?
We give him a lot of little toys and hammy candies, but at night, after he eat, he bites the bars of the cage. ALL NIGHT!! I don't think it fitting, or maybe he wants to get out or something. But when I consent to him in his ball, or a little play pen, he sits still until I permit him back into his cage, or keeps running around and climbs out of the pen.
I used to have a bunch of hamsters...I found that they were much better in step if I kept them in 10 gal (or 20 gal long for multiples) fish tanks. You can buy a nice mesh lid to run on top, water bottle to hang up. It's easier to clean, and fits more things for them to do/burrow contained by. Oh also my hamsters used to really like old toilet paper rolls to shred much better than they like the purchased toys.
Yeah, hamsters close to to chew. You might want to get him some wood pieces (sold in pet stores) for him to chew on. It keeps his teeth file down so that they don't get too long. There are also some toys for hamsters that are treats enclosed by a big wood piece. This might help him because later he'd be more interested in biting the toy to get to the treat then contained by biting the cage.
It might help to get him a bigger cage near more room to run around.
Hamster bite their cage when they are bored or stress out. Try buying a bigger cage or giving a little toy that he can play next to.
