Petstores are so confusing? (10 Points)?

How come in petstores they say "Syrian hamsters fight" but they are always kept within the same tank? And rodent's like guinea pig's cause alot of babies fast but kept in the same reservoir? I bought many female guinea pig's and were fine. They weren't neuter or spayed.
personally, i chew over pet stores should only advise you, go from what you ruminate. i have mixed 3 gunie pigs before and they were adjectives fine so it should be ok. and my frieend did actually have sirian hamster but they fought to the death, so really its up 2 you

Typically, when Syrian hamsters reach a consistent age - they start to become overly territorial and start to fight. They can even fight to the death. The use they're kept in the same tank is because at that point within time they are young enough to co-habitate. By the way - Syrian hamsters are the friendliest beside people. Very good hamster. This fighting is duplicate with all breeds of hamsters. They are generally solitary creatures. As near any species though - males will generally be the fighters and females will be able to live together without too much fuss.
I don't fairly understand the guinea pig comment, sexes are separated in pet stores so they don't mate. When a male and a feminine guinea pig are placed together - nature *will* take over and yes they will mate. Female guinea pigs do well together, similar to rats they are social creatures. It is best if they're bought together though. If you buy one female and it establishes its own territory contained by its cage and then you add another one approximately a few months later, there could be fighting. You can do this - however you will want to monitor interactions between the two for a while to form sure they're getting along.

I hope this helped! Good luck!
It is because if you put to hamster together and you hold not slowly introduce them with each other the males will fight it is a fruitless idea to keep male hampsters together unless the are brothers or they be brought up together.
Simply enough, you shouldn't go to the pet store. You just give a great example on how they prey upon unknowing first time buyers...go to your local shelter for your next animal companion, not from a mass-breeder or a puppy mill animal from the pet store!
Because the hamsters are normally too young to start fighting.
I dunno about fighting hamsters, but as for breeding rodents.. Pet stores will usually separate masculine and female. Or only carry one femininity at a time.
Answers:    They say this because there is a different kind they are wanting you to buy. That one i hold found to be wrong, I had several Guinea pigs and they did not breed that often. Pet stores prey on people they cogitate don't know what they are doing. So be smart and read up on what you are looking for before going there.
