Question for Chinchilla owners.?
I'm thinking about getting a Chinchilla. I work at night about 3 night a week and I'm home every other night. I think that because they are nocturnal I will know how to take care of it very very well. Can you tell me about how much money you spent getting everything set up for your chinchilla when you first got it? What adjectives did you buy? And how long did it take to train your pet? Also any other tips would be great.
Answers: Chinchillas are indeed nocturnal, so you would have to let it out for its exercises earlier you go to work or as soon as you get home surrounded by the mornings. They usually cost somewhere in the region of lb95 - lb100 and their cage will cost a carnival bit, but once you have them, your Chinchilla will be relatively inexpensive to look after.
Pets At Home do a good range of Chinchilla Food and you will have need of to give it fresh hay every day. You will also need to gain plenty of wooden things for it to chew on, as they need to keep their teeth in check... create sure you only buy these from a pet shop as some woods are poisonous for Chinchillas.
Chinchillas are great pets but they are a bit skittish, so I don't think you'll be able to train it much. But they are so much fun, you'll be too busy laughing at their antics.
Im guessing 150 or more but im not certain i havent had one in forever
btw check out petco and look in the animal rescue on here in your area u might find a cheap one
