What type of hamster would you recommend to be the friendliest and the longest living?

probably get a Syrian hamster because they are infrequent but be sure the color is nice because some are not that good the color is gold munificent of not ORANGE okay and maybe a black bear i would say and whether u can find a white and brown spotted hamster that is NICE ok i had 7 hamsters all at once soo i should know.
The Syrian Hamster
If you are a pupil to the hamster world, a Syrian hamster is highly recommended as it is large, slow, and in most cases easier to toy with that the other types of hamster. Once tame, the Syrian has a friendly nature, and whether the hamster is being bought for a younger child, the Syrian is the hamster to choose. Most Syrians are around 15-18cm in length, and live an average of 2-3 years. They come in several different colours, and can have either a short or long coat. If the hamster has a short coat, you will largely not need to groom it, whereas a long haired hamster will need dailey grooming to keep its coat free of tangle. This can be done using a soft bristled toothbrush (non-electric!!) Syrians can be prone to a stress related disease, Wet Tail, and it is vital that veterinary treatment is sought immediately if a hamster shows symptoms of Wet Tail.

Syrian hamsters are solitary, and so when they achieve maturity at around 6-8 weeks they will need to be kept in their own round up for the rest of their lives. If kept with another hamster they will eventually fight till the death.

Note: A "Teddy Bear" or "Black Bear" hamster or similar is a occupancy petshops use to describe a Syrian hamster, and so the rules of one per cage apply to them too.

Hope this helped! Good Luck!
OMG, Hamsters are bad. Yes here cute, but they are a mess. When their cage gets dirty, it smells like foot!!
The Black Bear hamster is definitely the sweetest hamster but with the sole purpose lives to about 2.5 years but the Robo (roborovskii) hamster lives the longest at 3.5 years but the robo hamster is a dwarf hamster so they like to bite and there markedly hard to catch
It's strange what you are saying because i enjoy a Dwarf hamster myself sleeping next to me out of his cage. He does not even think give or take a few running away. My syrian hamster when out of its cage alll he thinks something like is escaping.

My dwarf hamster do his little nest beside me and i make him drink from a water bottle i hold in my paw. I give in treats. And the most of all he dance back in his cage by himself. He is everything but bitty. On the opposite my syrians tend more to bite. It's true that Rodents however will always stay a little wild and whether they would escape in your house. they would go back to their out of control instint very rapidely.

Hamster are not bad and do not smell if you verbs them correctly. I think what happened here is that you did not really care roughly speaking your hamster and did not clean his/her cage as much as this person should enjoy. Mine i remove his tubes once a week and clean them all before reasenbly them. My mother say that i am very patient for doing this.
Honestly, rats are nicer than hamsters. They are not as predictable to bite. They are also smarter (they can learn tricks and how to be litter box trained) and they are cleaner. I would would get a rat. They live 2-3 years.
Answers:    This really depends on you and what you want in a hamster. I personally like syrains, soft toy bear, or golden becasue they are calmer, more personable and easier to handle. They are remarkably easy to tame and they will respond to your voice. Dwarfs are domestic but in a instrument, they are still wild. They were domesticated a lot following then syrians and other larger hamsters. They are not as smart, very active and they are specified to be aggressive and bite more. Not all hamsters are a certain way though. Although dwarfs are other more active and not as smart, they may not be mean. Any hamster can bite and they usually do becasue they are afraid although dwarfs generally act aggressivly instead of fearfully. This is very common when you are newly starting to tame the hamster or you wake them up to fast. If you are appease, kind, and gentle, they can both be good pets. Make certain that you handle the animal before you buy it to be sure it is friendly. Don't trust anyone who say they are nice!

Sryian or Golden or Teddy Bear:
The most obvious difference between Syrians and dwarfs is the size. Syrians average about 8 inches in length.
Syrians come contained by a multitude of colors compared to the dwarf. They range from solids to calico. They can also be short-haired or long-haired.
Syrians are loners. They cannot be housed together unless they are young.
Syrians, when tame, remain that method, even if neglected.
Syrians soposedly live 2-5 years but the average for me is about 2-3

Dwarf:

Dwarfs often don't win longer than 3 to 4 inches.
Most dwarfs (unless they are albino) have a dark dorsal stripe running from the head down to the tail.
Dwarfs come surrounded by far fewer colors than Syrians.
Dwarfs can live together or in small groups but that means more space. That can be a problem since various commercial cages are too small for more than one hamster, even a dwarf hamster. In the wild, they live in groups so they NEED a friend.
Dwarfs tend to be more helpful than Syrians, but that activity level varies from hamster to hamster.
Dwarfs, when not kept hand-tame, will become natural.
If a dwarf manages to get loose they are faster than syrians and harder to catch
Dwarfs live in the order of 1-2 years.

Syrian. They live a long time and are friendly. The smaller breeds are bitey.
Teddy Bear hamsters are the BEST. Mine lived to be 3 years old. She be a cute apricot color and just an adorable fluff ball.
