Where is the best place to grasp a guinea pig?

I love guinea pigs and i'm getting one for my birthday!! I was wondering where the best place is to get one??
ask your local animal shelter for references

also try this site: petfinder.com
it help you find suitable animals to ADOPT in your area :)
Check with your local animal shelter or guinea pig rescue. The animal shelter will usually own the names and numbers of private rescues in your area.

Also check on Petfinder.com to see whether there are any near you that are in inevitability of a home. Craigslist.com is another good source for finding piggies that need to be re-homed.

Avoid buying your piggies from a massive chain like Petco or Petsmart. Most often the piggies are sick, hold parasites, or both.

Here are some links to help you with the precision of piggies:

Answers:    You should try a local rescue basis or breeder.Rescue Centres are very grateful for people adopting guinea pigs as they regularly have lots looking for new homes. If you live in the UK try this site: http://www.guineapigrehome.org.uk/

Breeders are biddable if you are looking for a specific colour or breed and they can give you lots of good proposal too.

Before getting one I would do lots of research so that you can look after your new pet well.

You should also remember that Guinea Pigs are social creatures and need to be kept contained by pairs or more or they will get lonely. Usually, rescue centres will only agree to you adopt Guinea Pigs in pairs or more.
Okay your first place to search should be all your local animal shelters. If for some drive there are NO guinea pigs in these shelters(which there should be) consequently I would search online at a website called www.craigslist.com
you can choose where you live on the website and consequently go to the link pets and type in guinea pigs. Sometimes folks will try to sell their guinea pigs and cages on this website that are in your nouns. If there also are no guinea pigs on this website try another website called
www.kijiji.com
which is pretty much the same as craigslist.com.
Your second resort should be a petstore!! well hope i helped!
Please first read up on guinea pigs at http://www.guinealynx.com and their cages http://www.guineapigcages.com after you can check on petfinder and on craigslist for piggies that need homes. Remember to always adopt from rather than buy from a petstore. There are so several animals that need homes.

Good Luck!
Check your local animal shelter, whether they don't have any they will direct you to a rescue organization.
get it at an animal shelter
I love GP's to i had one for 10 years! i bought her at a regular pet store, But looking into a shelter or rescue program is a great notion to! Hope this helps
NOT Petsmart or any other retail stores. I bought two from there, and one died inwardly a week and the other has a lame leg. I wasn't informed of either of these issues. Try a breeder or animal shelter. Those are guniea pigs that actully need homes.
My guinea pig is bleeding out the anus and wont chomp through whats wrong near him?   I be wondering im getting that peggy enclose and a starter gear but do i necessitate to receive anything else?   Can I administer my hamster baths?   Can I hold a guinea pig contained by my room?
