Why does my hamster chew on it's coop ?

when i feed my hamster it is still chewing on it's cage so please help me near my problem i really need help.
oh yeah happened to all my hamsters. give it a toilet quality newspaper roll to chew on. they chew on it most of the time. it needs to chew so hope that will help!
My hamster does the exact same thing at night. She climbs up within the corner of her cage at the very top and just bites and chews for approaching an hour. I think it's because of boredom - but anything else that I have bought for her to chew or do she ignores and chooses to verbs knawling on her cage. I guess she just enjoys doing it. As far as I know here is no reason why this is bad or why it should be avoided. Just provide lots of chews for her.

Answers:    He is bored! Play with him. He could get hold of brain damage from chewing his cage. Give him something for him to chew on, he needs things to chew on to keep hold of his teeth short. Here is a site you can visit for this:http://www.hamsterific.com/CageBarChewin...
they chew their cage out of boredom. just put some chew toys within there. if you don't want to buy them just put some toilet article rolls in there. that is why you shouldn't but a flex cage. it is very bad for their teeth. it will exact misaligned teeth, brain damage, or even death. so hope your hamster stops. also they like a skin out. go to a pet store and they normally have so houses that they can chew up. don't capture any plastic house. hope this helps.
I guess to be precise like the rabbits..
My rabbit make the same.
Hamster chew to keep all along their teeth down. Give them those balsa wood chew toys or any other of the items in the pet store. They like cardboard rolls too, not sure in the order of the glue in them being condition though.
it's because their rodants.. their teeth grow all the time and they have to chew on something. and i guess it shut within is what it picked. you should go to petco and get him/her a treat thats for his/her teeth. my hampster does this, not anymore tho.
hamsters have to chew on things because their teeth never stop growing so you inevitability like a toilet paper roll (the card board part lol) (w/o any toilet quality newspaper still on it) and put treats in it he will stop

My hamster does that too when she wants a special treat, requirements food,or wants to explore outside of the cage. That includes picking it up and letting it roam around and exploring different things on the floor. I know you may be anxious that it's gonna run away. But i would do it any way. Maybe it wants food and possibly it doesn't know that you already gave it some. .Oh and maybe it's teeth are too long. I suggest to buy it some firm chew toys. Your hamsters teeth can grow to the point where they can't even close their mouths. Good luck!
Your hamster either wants to be let out of it's pen, or it needs some more chewtoys/toilet paper roll. Hope this helps ;D
most hamsters do this when they are bored.put some toilet paper rolls in the enclose so it could chew on that.
mine did it.. use a toliet dissertation tube it helps !
