Why does my hamster other chew the round up?
ive got a hamster and ive had it for 6 months now. it doesnt give the impression of being to sleep like it should. its always chewing the cage and annoying me at darkness so i dont get enough sleep. any ideas on how to shut it up ?
well hamsters are normaly more active at night try to put him some toys an stuff surrounded by and chew blocks so that he is more intrested in them

get him out a bit more maybe he wishes to come out for a bit
beside a little research you could have found this out:) its completely natural for hamsters to do this particularly at night. Hamsters are nocturnal, they doze during the day and stay up at night. as for the chewing, hamsters' teeth grow constantly for the entire time they are alive. whether they dont chew at all, thats a problem because the teeth could grow right through the bottom lip! so it a completely natural thing for your hamster to do this. whether you wish to sleep better, i suggest moving the hamster to another room or trying to give it flavored things to chew on except the cage. either way, its going to chew.
Answers: your hamster is bored. is your hold big enough? and does it have plenty of toys? hamsters who are bored will start chewing alot. all hammies chew a moment or two bit. Maybe your hamster should be let out in your room (make sure it's past the worst and that you can catch your furry friend again). or else buy it a bigger cage or make a contribution it new toys. some examples for new toys would be:
an egg carton (hide little pieces of food inside, your hamster will love it)
apple tree branches to chew on, a hamsters always requirement a twig or something to chew on, as their teeth grow.
tubes
wooden tunnels with holes in them
a pot
a "bridge" made out of wood
a ladder made out of wood
use your imagination!
some hamsters draw from addicted to chewing (stereotypes). in this case an aquarium would be a best solution!
so I would give it different toys and let it out of the cage for an hour every night. whether that doesn't work, then checkyour cage size.

all hamsters do that at night night as they sleeps during the daytime, and be wide woke all night, you should try give somebody a lift it out and put in exercise ball or hold it as they chews the cage when they are bored or it tries to hang on to its teeth stop growing too long, you could get wood bar from petshop for hamster to chew it.If it still chews at night time that keep you awoke with nosies, move cage in different room so you would sleep better beside peace
There is nil you can really do about this because it is in there personality to chew on everything.
And hamsters are nocturnal so there is nothing you can do about the clatter at night but it might be better to move it to another room.
putting a blanket on it might get it confused to whether it is night or afternoon.

It is because he may be bored, also hamsters need to chew on stuff to stop thier teeth overlapping , so go to wilkinsons they get rid of wooden tube runs , 99p , he`ll bite on that go in the garden get him a few twigs to chew , buy him a chalk block from the pet shop , and some treats , later he`ll be fine and dandy :D

If it doesn't have something to chew on, then it's teeth will outgrow its mouth (like a beaver). The cage is basically something to chew on. Try buying something wooden at your pet store. They usually come in shapes like cheese or carrot.
well you need to play with him more my hamster used to do matching thing..he is bored he is depressed thats what he is doing for fun get him more toys like an excirsise controls and a ball for him to run in. play with him more...hamsters are nocturnal he isnt supposed to sleep at dark only during the day so keep the room bright and peaceable open curtins they like the sunlite like we similar to the dark when we sleep hamsters like the light...only dont put your hamster in derect sunlight he will overheat.
Hamsters chew the cage so they won't get ingrown teeth. Hamsters are nocturnal so its normal that its up at hours of darkness. Buy it some wooden toys at PetSmart. My favorite is the Super Nut Knot Nilbbler. Look it up on petsmart.com
My hamster does that well did considering he died 2 days ago sigh=[ well, anyway he does that because he's trying to read aloud HEY WHY ARE YOU SLEEPIN? COME ON TAKE ME OUT AND PLAY! YOUR LAZY PUT ME IN MY BALL RIGHT NOW!! I WANT TO BE FREE!
