Why doesnt my guinea pig drink?
We have had him about 5 weeks very soon and he very very rarely drinks any of his hose down? He is healthy, energetic and eats capably (fresh carrots, apple etc as well as dried food) It is an enigma. Hope someone knows the answer.

he probably gets all the moisture he needs from the greens and fruit your feed him.either that or he does it while your sleeping lol
Check to se that the river bottle works, and that water does drip from it (something might be stuck in it).
Otherwise, it could just be that he get all his liquid from the fruit and veg you feed him (especially whether you give him cucumber). I have 2 guinea pigs and they hardly ever drink their river, so I presume they get it all from their food.

Probably from adjectives the healthy carrotd and apples he eats , he gets adjectives the hydration he needs :)

my guinea-pigs hold an arc run and so they eat fresh grass everyday and drink very little because they have the moisture surrounded by the grass though i change the water every other day they still dont drink much
Answers: he definately gets the water and moisture from the vegetables and its zilch to worry about. Got this informationfrom someone with 25 + yearsof looking after guinea pigs and rabbits.
mabey because he dosent need to or mabey you put something within the water like vitamin c so he doesent like the soft spot
Make certain your waterbottle hasn't got anything stuck in it. Otherwise, there should be no problem as they don't drink patently much and get most of it from their food.
If you feel there's a problem though ask your vet for advice ;)
