Why is my dwarf hamster so aggressive?

I got her on last Wednesday and I heard that you should impart them a couple of days to warm up to their new environment so I did. I tried just putting my foot in her cage so she can get used to me, but every accident she gets she runs up and attacks and bites at my hand. I wash my hand really good so they dont smell like food or strong scents. I put her within her hamster ball so that she can run around and maybe trust me if I held her surrounded by her ball, she she tries attacking my hand through the ball. She tries to climb up on the bar of her cage and bite me through them or claw at me like she is trying to box lol

I dont know what to do anymore. I dont have any gloves to put on and stick into her enclose and the only gloves that I DO have, they are too big to fit on my hand and consequently into her cage. I'm at a loss here, I dont want to return her because I'm falling in love with her, but she doesnt come across to feel the same haha

Should I just return her, or do you own any tips? PLEASE! 10 points to best answer ASAP

*she is a Campbell's Russian dwarf hamster, not exactly sure on the age, forgot to ask, but she is really small*
She has been abused
i have a russian dwarf hamster. when i first got him he was really sweet, and i be able to hold him on the first day, but they he turned evil and if i tried to stroke him, he would bite me.
Answers:    Russian Dwarf Hamsters are incredibly territorial. Once you remove it from what it feels to be its kingdom it will calm down. Trying to pick one up is a painful adventure, simply stated but once its out of the coop and in your hand they are usualy okay. Chinese dwarf hamsters are much calmer and do not bite, so If you want a fuzzy cute hamster, travel chinese dwarf.
Simply because it's a hamster. Try a PET rat. They will never bite you, even if you wake it up! And they bring bigger which makes it easier to hold.
I also have a dwarf ham :)

Unless hand raise from birth, this is a common reaction from dwarf hamsters. They are much harder to train than syrians.

My suggestion is to begin by offering something scrumptious to her like a sunflower seed. Don't be quick to touch her or clutch her. Another thing you can do, is stuff some tissue in your sock or bra (to get your scent) for a few hours, next place it in her cage so she can become familiar next to your scent.

Finally, another activity you can do, is sit in the bath (empty, of course), and put her within the tub with you so she can freely walk on you an smell you.

it can take closely of time and patience to hand tame a dwarf ham, but it is possible!

she doesnt close to you, you should change her for russiun winter whites.
Some dwarfs are only just naturally aggressive. I don't think she will ever warm up to you. Sorry, I have one who killed my other hamster then hated me ever since. She bit me every hit and miss she got. I would return her. Sorry.
